A major tree plantation ceremony was recently held at MAYFAIR Lagoon with over 4000 trees being planted to herald and mark the process of rebuilding and renewing Odisha after Cyclone Fani adversely affected the entire state. Cyclone Fani which was classified as a Category 4 Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm struck Odisha with all her fury recently and left behind a trail of destruction, wreaking havoc across several towns and villages along the coastal areas and further inland as well. Wind speeds reached up to 250 kms per hour which caused a lot of damage. Unfortunately there were 64 reported deaths caused by Cyclone Fani in Odisha. The damage caused to infrastructure was immense in Odisha and estimates go up to over Rs. 11,942 Crores in damages. The process of rebuilding and reviving has been initiated with everyone coming together to bring Odisha back to how it was before and even stronger.
MAYFAIR Lagoon in Bhubaneswar and MAYFAIR Waves and MAYFAIR Heritage in Puri were all severely affected by Cyclone Fani with the damage caused to all three being quite considerable in terms of the scope and the intensity. All three properties were in the eye of the storm and faced the full fury of Cyclone Fani when it struck Odisha. This had caused a considerable amount of damage in all three of these properties with structures damaged and trees uprooted. However, due to the combined efforts of everyone involved and the resolve of Team MAYFAIR, the process of rebuilding was very good and going at a strong pace with a steadfast determination noticeable in overcoming all difficulties so things could go back to how it was before. We are now pleased to announce that all these properties are fully operational now.
