The prestigious 33rd IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) Annual Convention was held with great aplomb and success at MAYFAIR Convention in Bhubaneswar from the 7th to the 10th of September, 2017 and saw esteemed delegates come in from all over India. The convention was inaugurated by the honourable Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik.
This particular year, the theme of the IATO Convention was a very relevant topic for contemporary times: “Indian Tourism – Time to Reinvent Ourselves.” Delegates came from all parts of the country to attend the convention. There were also tourism officials and representatives from 15 different states. Various interactive sessions were held including sessions on “Next Generation-Challenges and Opportunities”, “Moving Beyond Culture and Heritage”, “Aviation – New Policies and New Opportunities”, “FAITH and the GST Journey” and “Marketing-Stop Serving Old Wine in a New Bottle.” These sessions proved to be very enlightening as the panels included a host of industry experts and stalwarts. The 33rd IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) Annual Convention was brought to a grand fitting end with a valedictory address from the Honourable Governor of Odisha, Dr. S.C. Jamir.
